Pakistani team in World Cup 2023
According to a report on Cricket Pakistan, Pakistan’s cricket team players are considering boycotting sponsor logos and promotional commitments for the Cricket World Cup 2023 because of persisting problems with their central contracts. According to earlier reports, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and captain Babar Azam each received a retainer offer of PKR 4.5 million (about INR 13.22 lakh) every month. Prior to this, white-ball players received 0.95 million rupees per month (about INR 2.8 lakh), while Test cricketers received 1.1 million rupees (about INR 3.2 lakh). However, because the central contracts have not yet been finalized, Pakistani players may make some unfavorable choices.
According to the report, the Pakistani cricketers have gone four months without receiving their monthly retainers. Younger players have faced some financial difficulties as a result of this.
“We are happy to represent Pakistan without compensation, but we are unsure why we should highlight the logos of sponsors connected to the board. Similarly, we have the right to deny invitations to promotional events and other activities. We won’t participate in the ICC’s promotional and commercial efforts during the World Cup either, a member of the Pakistan cricket team told Cricket Pakistan under the condition of anonymity.

The sportsmen have requested a portion of the money that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will make from sponsorships and the International Cricket Council (ICC), according to a report from Cricket Pakistan. Without factoring in sponsorship and the proceeds from bilateral series, the amount is anticipated to be somewhere around 9.8 billion rupees.
