The city of Mumbai came alive with fervor and enthusiasm, celebrating the historic T20 World Cup win and bidding farewell to two cricketing legends in a memorable fashion.

Fans, eager to celebrate India's first ICC T20 World Cup title, thronged the route, creating a festive atmosphere despite the challenges of rain and traffic.

Earlier on Thursday, the Indian team landed on home soil in the early hours and was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd in Delhi.

Despite the initial setbacks caused by adverse weather conditions, the resilience and spirit of the Indian cricket team prevailed, marking their return with jubilant celebrations and a warm reception from fans and dignitaries alike.

Mumbai Cricket association has made it free of cost for fans to enter Wankhede stadium for victory parade on Thursday evening.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal lavished praise on Team India for their T20 World Cup triumph, saying the Men in Blue "worked hard for this win".

Along with the team BCCI secretary Jay Shah and President Roger Benny also attended T20 triumph breakfast at PM residence.

Once in Mumbai, the team will head to the Wankhede Stadium, where an open bus parade is scheduled to start at 5 pm IST on Thursday.
