India’s World Cup loss was due to their “timid approach” says Shoaib Akhtar

Headed by Rohit Sharma At the ODI World Cup, Team India put up an impressive display, crushing every opposition they faced en route to the championship match. The squad lost the contest by six wickets against Australia in the final, though, as they were unable to muster the same panache. After dominating the Australian assault up to this point, Team India found it difficult to contain the Aussie attack and only scored a meager 240 runs.

As the Indian innings went on, others struggled to get boundaries, even though Rohit was playing at his peak. Between the 11th and 50th overs, there were actually only four boundaries scored as KL Rahul and Virat Kohli hammered slow half-centuries.

But as the game progressed, the weather improved, enabling Travis Head to counter the Indian attack, which showed amazing form all the way to the end.Even though India lost, many pundits praised them for their impressive performance—they had won ten straight games. Although he pointed fingers at the pitch and questioned India’s strategy in the final, former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar had similar sentiments.

By no accident did India make it to the final. Their superb play got them to the final. But, I felt that the game’s pitch left a lot to be desired. I wish India had made a stronger plea instead of taking such a cowardly stance. In a video posted to his YouTube account, the former cricket player stated, “The toss would not have played such a big role if there had been more bounce and pace.”He also brought up India’s recent performance in ICC competitions, citing chance as the cause of their lack of success on the major stages. “I’d want to thank India for qualifying for the World Cup final. It is a difficult accomplishment to make.

They defeated other teams to get here. Sadly, they are never successful in these kinds of matches. We have witnessed them come dangerously close to taking home the trophy over the last 12 years or so, but nonetheless fall short. Team India hasn’t had luck on their side.
