Pant and Gill Dismantle Bangladesh

The morning session was entirely in India’s favor as Pant and Gill added 128 runs in 24 overs. Pant played aggressive shots, hitting 13 fours and four sixes, while Gill struck 10 fours and four sixes. Pant’s century, his sixth in Test cricket, tied M.S. Dhoni’s record for the most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper.

After a 167-run partnership, Pant fell in a caught-and-bowled dismissal to Mehidy Hasan. Gill, however, continued to dominate, reaching his fifth Test hundred.

Ashwin’s Spin Troubles Bangladesh

Bangladesh began their chase with Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam hitting boundaries, but Jasprit Bumrah and Ashwin struck back. Ashwin removed Shanto and Mominul Haque, while Mushfiqur Rahim fell to a superb catch by KL Rahul.

With bad light ending the day’s play early, India remains in full control, needing just six wickets to seal victory.

Brief Scores:
