Gujarat Titans retain Hardik Pandya ahead of IPL 2024 auctions

In the second Twenty20 International against Australia on Sunday, India’s rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal regaled the city of Thiruvananthapuram with yet another brilliant start.

After hitting two boundaries off Glenn Maxwell, the left-handed opener launched a full-scale attack on Australian fast-bowling all-rounder Sean Abbott.

Jaiswal scored a boundary and a cut stroke in the same over to bring the score to three on three. He then guided Abbott to the third man. The Australian seamer was then removed by him for two enormous biggies, but he failed to make an impact on the final ball of the over.

The Rajasthan Royals opener hit three more boundaries off Nathan Ellis in the final over of the powerplay to reach his first-ever T20I half-century. But Ellis outclassed him that over, as he fell to 53 after doing the damage in the 25 balls he faced.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, Jaiswal’s partner, also performed flawlessly in the interim, returning the strike to the explosive southpaw and putting in the bad balls the CSK batter was receiving.
