Ferrari has revealed a special livery for their SF-25 cars at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix in Monza, honouring the legendary Niki Lauda’s 1975 championship-winning season.
The tribute comes exactly 50 years after Lauda secured the Drivers’ Championship and helped Ferrari clinch the Constructors’ title.
The redesign features classic white detailing on the engine cover, retro racing numbers, and period-style wheel covers — elements inspired by the iconic Ferrari 312T Lauda drove to victory.
This year’s Monza Grand Prix also marks Lewis Hamilton’s first race at the legendary circuit as a Ferrari driver.
The seven-time World Champion joins Charles Leclerc in a weekend that holds deep significance for the team and its global fanbase, the tifosi.
The Scuderia arrived in Monza following a disappointing outing at the Dutch Grand Prix, where both drivers were forced to retire.
Hamilton lost control of his car in wet conditions at Turn 3, bringing an early end to his race.
Shortly after, Leclerc collided with Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli in the same section, completing a double DNF for Ferrari.
Despite the setback, the team remained encouraged by improved pace throughout the weekend, suggesting that development upgrades to the SF-25 are beginning to pay off.
In a further twist ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, stewards handed Hamilton a five-place grid penalty after he breached double yellow flag regulations during reconnaissance laps at Zandvoort.
According to the FIA, Hamilton failed to reduce his speed sufficiently in a sector marked with double-waved yellow flags near the final corner.
A steward’s report read, “Due to the nature of the track, the Race Director had informed all participants that the last corner before the pit lane would have double yellow flags waved. We reviewed telemetry from both the FIA system and the team. It took time to reach a decision due to the complexity of the data involved.”
The penalty adds pressure on Hamilton’s Monza debut in Ferrari red, but the team remains focused on delivering a strong performance in front of their home crowd.
With Monza being Ferrari’s second home race of the season, the team hopes the special tribute to Lauda will inspire both drivers and fans alike.
The race weekend represents a blend of heritage and modern ambition — a fitting homage to one of F1’s most storied champions as Ferrari continues their pursuit of future glory.
