ChatGPT users faced a global outage on Wednesday, with thousands unable to access the AI chatbot.
According to Downdetector.in, the disruption affected both the web and mobile app, leaving users frustrated.
A majority of the reports highlighted problems with ChatGPT on the web, while others noted app issues. In India, over 500 users flagged disruptions. Around 1,000 users in the UK reported being impacted, while nearly 400 users in the US shared similar complaints.
OpenAI confirmed the outage through its official status page. The company said the chatbot is facing a ‘ChatGPT Not Displaying Responses’ error.
“We are investigating the issue for the listed services,” the status page read.
OpenAI has yet to provide a timeline for resolution.
The ChatGPT outage has raised concerns among regular users who rely on the platform for work, study, and research.
As in past outages, users turned to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration.
One user posted: “ChatGPT seems to be down today? Whatever I type to it, returns no answer – this is the 20th different conversation.”
Another user wrote sarcastically: “ChatGPT is not only down, it’s now veryyyyy down to earth now.”
The global ChatGPT outage continues to impact users across regions, with investigations still underway.
