On the 8th Swachh Survekshan Awards ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri says, "With a very modest beginning in 2016, today 447 cities and urban local bodies participate in the Swachh Survekshan. In this 8th edition, we received feedback from 12 crore people. Cleanliness has become a social revolution and the impact can be seen everywhere... Waste processing has increased from 15-16% in 2014 to 76% in 2023. In the next 2-3 years, we will process 100% waste produced."

COAS General Manoj Pande says, "Currently, our attempt is to continue talks (with China) to go back to the status quo ante which existed in the middle of 2020. Once that happens, then we can go back to look back at larger issues. Till the time, we will continue to deploy whatever forces are required to be deployed along the LAC."
Army Chief Talks About Myanmar Situation Impact On India Border
The situation at the Indo-Myanmar border is of concern to us. You are aware of the activities of the Myanmar army and the ethnic armed organization and the PDF in the past couple of months which has resulted in some of the Myanmar army personnel walking across about 416 of them to date. Also, some of the civilians from Bhutan taking shelter both in Mizoram as well as Manipur. But what is of concern is because of the situation across the Indo-Myanmar border, we also have some of the insurgent groups who are feeling the pressure and who have now attempted to come onto our side of the border in the state of Manipur. That combined with the situation in Manipur is something we are keeping a close watch on. We have close to 20 Assam Rifle Battalions which are deployed at the Indo-Myanmar border. There is also a talk of further strengthening our fence along the border.

Unit 9 of Mumbai Crime Branch has seized the banned product Gutkha worth Rs 1.39 crore from DN Nagar area of Andheri and arrested three people. The three arrested accused were presented in the court where all three were sent to police custody till Friday.
