NASA Postpones Plans To Send Humans To The Moon

US space Agency NASA postpones its plans to send humans to the Moon after delays hit its hugely ambitious Artemis programme. The agency announces the ArtemisIII mission to land four astronauts near the lunar south pole will be delayed a year until September 2026. ArtemisII, a 10-day expedition to send a crew around the Moon and back to test life support systems, will also be pushed back to September 2025.

Mizoram: Heroin, ‘Smuggled’ Foreign Cigarettes Worth Rs 1.23 Crore Recovered

Personnel of the Assam Rifles have recovered 139 gm of heroin worth Rs 97.3 lakh and foreign cigarettes “smuggled from Myanmar” valued at Rs 26 lakh, in two separate operations in Mizoram, an official said on Wednesday. The recovery was made during the two operations at Zokhawthar village along the India-Myanmar border, and the Jail Veng locality, in Champhai district on Monday, he said.  A drug peddler from Assam's Silchar has also been apprehended, the official said.  The entire consignment worth Rs 1.23 core and the accused were handed over to police for further legal proceedings, an Assam Rifles statement added.

Rajasthan Religious Organisations Send 2,100 Oil Casks To Sita Rasoi In Ayodhya

Ahead of the January 22 consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, religious organisations in Rajasthan on Monday sent 2,100 casks of oil to the Sita Rasoi there. It is a matter of good fortune to send supplies to the Sita Rasoi, said Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who also flagged off a Ram Darbar procession from the Ganga Mata temple here to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Sharma said ahead of the 'Pran Pratishtha' (consecration ceremony) of the Ram temple, there is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the entire country, according to a statement.  The programme in Jaipur was organised by Dharmayatra Mahasangh Rajasthan and Shri Shyam Bhajan Sandhya Parivar Seva Samiti Jaipur. City MP Ramcharan Bohra and Hawamahal MLA Balmukundacharya were among those present in the programme.

“Murder Of Democracy, Insult Of Supreme Court,” Says Uddhav Thackrey

The Assembly Speaker's ruling that Eknath Shinde's Sena was the true Shiv Sena in 2022 when the factions emerged is a murder of democracy, according to former chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray. The former chief minister, who resigned in 2022 in the face of a rebellion led by Eknath Shinde with the support of the BJP, added that it is an insult to the Supreme Court. The Uddhav group has declared that they will appeal the decision to the Supreme Court because they disagree with it. If Eknath Shinde is the real Shiv Sena, then why he did not disqualify his faction, Uddhav said "I think the Assembly Speaker did not understand the mandate -- what he was asked to do. The Supreme Court laid down the framework but the Speaker thought he was above the Supreme Court and came up with his verdict," Uddhav said.
