On Opposition leaders declining the invitation to Ram Temple pranpratishtha, Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam says, "This is unfortunate. Not even a Christian or a priest or Muslim can decline the invitation of Lord Ram. Ram is the soul of India. Without Ram, India can't even be imagined. Declining the invitation means insulting the civilisation and culture of India. It means challenging the pride and existence of India. I would like to urge all Opposition parties, fight the BJP but not Ram. Fight BJP but not Sanatana. Fight BJP but not India."

Tamil Nadu Government Ban Watching Live Telecast Of Ayodha Ram Mandir Consecration, Posts Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweets, "Tamil Nadu government has banned watching live telecast of Ayodha Ram Mandir programmes of 22 Jan 24. In TN there are over 200 temples for Shri Ram. In HR&CE managed temples no puja/bhajan/prasadam/annadanam in the name of Shri Ram is allowed. Police are stopping privately held temples also from organising events. They are threatening organisers that they will rip off pandals. Strongly condemn this anti-Hindu, hateful action..."

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announces all educational institutes will be closed tomorrow in state in the wake of Ram Temple Consecration. CM requested, shop owners to close commercial establishments during that time so that employees could also see the event.

Former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has received the invitation to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony on Saturday -- two days before the event-- through speed post. Sanjay Raut said, "You are giving a special invitation to the celebrities and film stars. They had nothing to do with Ram Janmabhoomi, But you are treating the Thackeray family this way? Thackeray had played a major and important role in the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation. Lord Ram will not forgive you and will curse for this. You are praying to Lord Ram and running the government like Ravana."

Election Commission Estimates An Amount Of Rs. 10,000 Crore Every 15 Years To Procure New EVMs

Election Commission has estimated that an amount of Rs 10,000 crore would be required every 15 years to procure new Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) if simultaneous polls are conducted for Lok Sabha and assemblies. In a communication sent to the law ministry, the poll panel highlighted that the shelf life of EVMs is 15 years and one set of machines could be used for three cycles of elections in their lifespan if simultaneous polls were held. For the upcoming Lok Sabha polls this year, it is estimated that a total of 11.80 lakh polling stations would be required across India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Virtually Addresses Laying Ceremony Of Khodaldham Trust Cancer Hospital In Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  the foundation stone laying ceremony of Khodaldham Trust Cancer Hospital in Gujarat. He says, "It is a great honour for me to be associated with the holy land of Khodaldham and the devotees. For public welfare, Shree Khodaldham Trust has taken a step forward. From today, the work for Cancer Hospital and Research Centre will begin in Amreli." Prime Minister says, "The govt is making efforts to ensure hassle-free treatment for cancer patients. In the last nine years, almost 30 new cancer hospitals have been developed in the country. Work is underway at 10 new cancer hospitals. Gujarat has made remarkable progress in the health sector. Today Gujarat is turning out to be a big medical hub in India. Till 2002, Gujarat had only 11 medical colleges however today, the number has risen to 40. In 20 years, the MBBS seats have gone up by five times."

Ram Temple Consecration Celebrations: Ten Lakh Diyas To Be Lit In Ayodhya

Ten lakh earthen lamps or diyas will illuminate Ayodhya on Monday evening to celebrate the consecration of the Ram temple. Diyas will be lit at 100 temples here, including the Ram Temple, and Ram Ki Paidi, Kanak Bhawan, Guptar Ghat, Sarayu Ghat, Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, Maniram Das Chavani, besides other prominent locations, officials said. Following the consecration ceremony, every citizen has been encouraged to light diyas at their homes in the evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people to light special diyas in their homes to celebrate the day of 'pran pratishtha' at the Ram temple. He has also asked his Cabinet colleagues to celebrate the temple consecration ceremony by lighting up diyas at their homes and also feed the poor. The Uttar Pradesh government, which has been organising 'Deepotsav' on the eve of Diwali for the last seven years, will once again adorn Ayodhya with diyas on January 22,  officials said. In 2017, the state government had adorned Ayodhya with 1.71 lakh diyas, and during the 2023 Deepotsav, a new record was set with 22.23 lakh diyas.
