DGCA Issues Show Cause Notices to Air India and SpiceJet Over Non-CAT III Pilots After Delhi Flight Diversions

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show cause notice to Air India and SpiceJet for rostering non-CAT III compliant pilots. The notice was issued after more than 50 Delhi airport-bound flights were diverted due to low visibility on December 24-25 and December 27-28.

CDSCO Bans Additional Charges for Blood Procurement to Curb Overpricing in Hospitals

Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has banned all charges except processing fees for the procurement of blood. The move is intended to check the practice of overcharging for blood in the hospitals. Official sources says the guidelines were issued earlier also in this regard and CDSCO has again issued it asking all states and Union Territories to adhere to the guidelines.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a massive gathering of Indian community members in Abu Dhabi in the UAE on February 13. The event, 'Ahlan Modi', is slated to be held just a day before the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. Over 50,000 people are expected to attend the event.

Bangladesh To Step Into National Election On 7th January

Bangladesh heads into national election on 7th January; 119 million voters will decide the fate of 1,970 candidates vying for 300 seats. Election Commission of Bangladesh has reinstated the candidature of 77 aspirants on Wednesday following the order of the High Court and now the total number of candidates for the January 7 polls stands at 1,970.

SC Directs Formation Of Committee In All HCs To Look Into Pay And Pension Of Judges Of High Court

Supreme Court directs formation of a committee in each High Court across India to ensure that orders concerning the pay and pension of judges are properly implemented. As per the CJI DY Chandrachud, the committee shall consist of: -2 judges of the HC -Law secretary -Registrar General of the HC -Retired judicial officer to act as a nodal officer -Senior most judge nominated by Chief Justice will be the chairperson of the committee The function of the committee will be to see proper implementation of SNJPC and pay pensions.
