Lord Ram Temple, Ayodhya: The idol of Lord Shri Ram is set to be consecrated in the magnificent Ram temple on January 22, a date that Ram devotees from all over the world eagerly await. Devotees are getting ready to celebrate the 22nd with bhajan, kirtan, and aarti, along with lighting the earthen pots (Diyas) like Diwali, to make it extra special. At the same time, a grand 51 feet statue of Hanumanji is also to be unveiled in Geeta Colony in Delhi on January 22.
Ram and Lakshman on Hanumanji’s shoulders
The fact that Hanuman ji has both Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman perched on his shoulders makes this statue unique. It was erected in the historic Hanuman temple close to Ramlila Ground in Geeta Colony, East Delhi. The scene in the Ramayana where Hanuman ji was supposed to meet Lord Shri Ram and Lakshman with Sugriva served as the model for this idol.
Unveiling on January 22
The temple administration told Bharat Express correspondent Amrit Prakash that they had decided five or six months before January 22 to unveil the statue of Hanuman Ji. That being said, it is a remarkable coincidence that Ram Lalla’s consecration is occurring on the same day in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Shri Ram.
