In light of the spike in ailments brought on by the monsoon, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian on Sunday launched the state government’s initiative to hold 10,000 special medical camps for ten weeks.
Speaking at the occasion at Kodambakkam, Chennai’s MGR Nagar market area, Subramanian stated that, in light of an increase in cases, two meetings have already been conducted to explore preventive steps to control dengue. Chief Secretary M K Stalin has presided over these meetings and given instructions from the Chief Minister.

Rain-related illnesses like dengue, malaria, chikungunya, and diarrhea often strike during the northeast monsoon. The Health Department has been conducting ongoing awareness initiatives in collaboration with local organizations. To treat patients affected by these diseases, a special ward with the necessary beds has been set up at all district headquarters hospitals and medical college hospitals. Seven of the 5,896 persons in the state who contracted dengue since January have passed away from the illness, according to Subramanian.
The medical camps, he continued, will take place every Sunday from October 29 to December 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
