Hon’ble Shri Justice Basudev Acharya, Chief Judge of the High Court of Tulsipur, Butwal Bench, led the reception on behalf of the Nepalese judiciary.
Khenpo Chimed Lhakyal Lama, the District Judge of Rupandehi District Court, and other local dignitaries also greeted the CJI.
The occasion underscored the close ties and mutual respect between judicial institutions in India and Nepal.
As part of their visit, the CJI and his family were taken to the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha at Lumbini.
Officials presented several historic and culturally significant sites in the region to them, and the world recognises the area as one of the most important pilgrimage destinations.
Lumbini, a UNESCO World Heritage site, attracts thousands of visitors annually from across the globe for its spiritual and cultural heritage.
The guided tour for the Indian delegation included key landmarks commemorating Lord Buddha’s life.
