To boost tourism throughout Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has initiated the development of 12 major tourism circuits. A significant focus has been placed on enhancing the spiritual circuit due to its vast potential.

CM Yogi’s Standards based on the 7 S’s

A government spokesperson mentioned that a detailed action plan has been created to promote tourism within the spiritual circuit. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has begun preparations to implement this plan, which includes conducting surveys of tourist destinations, performing gap analyses, and adhering to the UP Tourism Policy Document 2022. The plan prioritizes standards based on the 7 S’s: Suchna (Awareness), Swagat (Welcome), Suvidha (Amenities), Suraksha (Safety), Swachthta (Cleanliness), Sanrachna (Infrastructure) and Sahyog (Support).

Prayagraj Maha Kumbh, 2025

In recent years, Uttar Pradesh has significantly improved its tourism sector, attracting global tourists. Developments like Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Ayodhya Dham, with their respective corridors, have made these sites premier tourist attractions. The upcoming Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj in 2025, expected to attract 30 crore participants, highlights Uttar Pradesh’s growing tourism prominence.

A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared to strategically enhance tourism across various circuits, including the spiritual circuit. This DPR will include thorough tourist gap analyses and will set new directions for tourism initiatives. It will also address branding, marketing, and the handling capacity of tourist destinations.

Collection of data through photography, video clips, and drone coverage. The agency chosen by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department will work closely with department officials to determine the survey methodology.

The action plan includes gathering feedback from visitors at all selected tourist spots, collecting tourism statistics, evaluating growth trends, and prioritizing a citizen-centric approach. By implementing national and international best practices, leveraging global experiences, and using advanced technology, this comprehensive approach aims to improve and operate these locations effectively.

The state government expects these efforts to boost revenue, attract more tourists, and encourage substantial foreign investments. They anticipate that this influx of investments will create jobs, enhance local facilities, and contribute to the region’s overall development.
