Yogi Government Will Rejuvenate The Temple Of Shri Veni Madhav, The City Deity Of Prayagraj

Prayagraj: The Maha Kumbh to be held in Teerthraj Prayagraj is the biggest religious and spiritual event of Sanatan culture and Hinduism. The Yogi government is specially rejuvenating the temples here to make it grand, divine and new. In this sequence, the Lord Shri Veni Madhav temple is being rejuvenated by the Tourism Department. For this, the Yogi government will spend an amount of 209.35 lakhs. At the same time, two big gates are also being built to control the crowd in the temple.

The Sangam of Prayagraj is the center of faith of the devotees coming to Maha kumbh. Crores of devotees come here to seek salvation by bathing in the confluence of the holy streams of Ganga, Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati. It is a religious belief that the desire for salvation and attainment of virtue is not fulfilled until the devotees visit the city deity of Prayag, Shri Beni Madhav.

Seeing the crowd of devotees arriving during the Maha Kumbh at the ancient temple located in Daraganj on the banks of the Ganga, the Yogi government has resolved to rejuvenate it. Regional Tourism Officer of Prayagraj, Aparajita Singh, says that the Tourism Department will rejuvenate this ancient temple at a cost of 209.35 lakhs. For this, an amount of 205.35 lakhs has been approved. The government has also released a budget of 164.00 lakhs as the first installment. The tender process has started. This work will be completed by the last week of November.

The location of Shri Veni Madhav temple is such that due to the narrow roads to reach here, there is often a traffic jam. Being the oldest residential colony of the city, the roads cannot be widened. In such a situation, the tourism department is getting two big gates built for the temple. According to regional tourism officer Aparajita Singh, two entry gates of 3 meters and 5 meters length are being built here, so that crowds do not gather in the temple premises. A passenger shed is also being constructed here for the rest of the devotees. An RO plant will be installed inside the temple for drinking water. The cladding of the outer walls of the temple will be done with red stone. The temple will be lit up with solar energy, for this also special arrangements are being made here.
