To support Akharas, institutions, and Kalpvasis during Maha Kumbh 2025, the Yogi Adityanath government has introduced a subsidized ration scheme offering essential supplies at reduced prices.
Under this scheme, flour will be available at Rs 5 per kilogram, rice at Rs 6 per kilogram, and sugar at Rs 18 per kilogram.
The authorities have set up 138 fair price shops in the Maha Kumbh area to ensure smooth distribution.
These shops will serve Kalpvasis and other participants, providing easy access to affordable food items.
Additionally, 1.2 lakh white ration cards have been issued to Kalpvasis, enabling them to avail of subsidized rations.
As part of the comprehensive arrangements for Maha Kumbh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized the importance of food security for the event.
Five food storage warehouses have set up, stocked with 6,000 metric tons of flour, 4,000 metric tons of rice, and 2,000 metric tons of sugar, ensuring an uninterrupted supply throughout the event.
The government has also made provisions for cooking facilities.
Agencies across 25 sectors have assigned the task of providing new gas connections to Kalpvasis, Akharas, and institutions, along with gas cylinder refilling services.
Kalpvasis who own empty cylinders can also avail of refilling facilities for various cylinder sizes—5 kg, 14.2 kg, and 19 kg.
The officials will allocate 3 kg of flour, 2 kg of rice, and 1 kg of sugar to each Kalpvasi per month, starting in January and continuing through February.
They will also implement the ‘One Nation One Card’ scheme to ensure that all eligible participants can access the subsidized rations.
