Yoga Event Organised At CISF Headquarters, DG Sheelvardhan Singh Says Yoga Heals Body

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, yoga event was organized at the CISF Headquarters in Delhi. During event, CISF DG Sheelvardhan Singh did yoga exercises with officers and employees. DG Sheelvardhan Singh said in his address that our force has adopted yoga as a lifestyle. He further mentioned that, “In a force of 1.78 lakh people, 1.50 lakh have adopted yoga, which is a big achievement in itself.”

Yoga heals body

The CISF DG said, “Today the society needs yoga, and the best part is that adopting it has no side effects, rather it is beneficial. Yoga is generally seen as a disease prevention method or keeping one healthy. In today’s session we got enlightened with the benefits of different Yoga asanas. Yoga has really vast dimensions and it heals the body.”

Yoga is free from copyrights

21 June is celebrated as Yoga Day all over the world. PM Modi led the International Yoga Day event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. During the event, PM Modi said, “Yoga comes from India and it is a very old tradition. Yoga is free from copyrights.”

11 lakh NCC cadets participated in Yoga Event

On the other hand, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, more than 11 lakh NCC cadets participated in programs organized across the country on Wednesday. From Leh in the north to Kanyakumari in the south, from Dwarka in the west to Tezu in the east, yoga sessions were held in parks, open grounds, schools and colleges across the country.

Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC) Lt Gen Gurbir Pal Singh presided a meeting cadets from all the three services at Delhi Cantonment. Explaining the essence of “Har Aangan Yoga” and “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, he urged everyone to include yoga in life. NCC conducted drill sessions for the cadets on the occasion of International Day of Yoga.
