Yoga Connect 2025: In the lead-up to this year’s International Day of Yoga (IDY), the Ministry of Ayush will host a major international summit titled ‘Yoga Connect’ this Saturday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The event, taking place in a hybrid format, aims to bring together global leaders in yoga and wellness to exchange knowledge, research, and innovative practices in the field.
Organised by the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), the summit has drawn participation from acclaimed yoga masters and health leaders from across the world.
Renowned personalities such as Dr HR Nagendra, Bikkhu Sanghasena, Bharath Bhushan, Baba Ramdev, and Acharya Balakrishna are likely to speak and share their expertise during various sessions.
The Ministry reports that over 1,000 individuals will be present at the venue, while many more will participate virtually from different parts of the world.
The gathering includes a wide spectrum of attendees—yoga professionals, scholars, medical experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and wellness advocates—from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Bahrain.
Yoga sessions set under ‘One Earth, One Health’ theme
This summit is one in a series of events paving the way for the grand celebration on 21 June, when more than one lakh yoga sessions will be conducted in unison across India and overseas.
These sessions, following a standard yoga protocol, will take place from 6:30 AM to 7:40 AM under this year’s theme, ‘One Earth, One Health’.
Union Minister of Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, confirmed that the central celebration will take place in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will likely lead the event.
Over 65,000 organisations nationwide have registered to participate in this large-scale health initiative, which has evolved into a globally recognised wellness movement.
International engagement continues to grow, with representatives from nearly 40 countries expected to attend the Visakhapatnam celebration.
Meanwhile, Delhi will host yoga events at 111 iconic sites, including landmarks like the Red Fort, Kartavya Path, and Lodhi Garden.
Since its official recognition by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014, the International Day of Yoga has become a worldwide tribute to India’s ancient heritage, promoting harmony of body, mind, and spirit.
