Chetan Singh, a railway police officer, allegedly shot and killed three passengers and his senior on a train traveling from Jaipur to Mumbai hours before the event.
He requested to exit the train, but was instructed to finish his shift. He became enraged by this, which led to a fight in which he allegedly attempted to choke one of his coworkers.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Tikaram Meena and Singh were both passengers on the superfast train on Sunday night while Ghanshyam Acharya, a member of the Railway Protection Force, was on duty. Mr. Acharya has described to the police the sequence of events that led to the terrible tragedy that claimed the lives of Mr. Meena and three other people.

Mr. Acharya has told police that he was on escort duty with Mr. Meena (58), constable Narendra Parmar (58), and Singh (33), who described the tragic events of the night. Singh and Mr. Meena were on duty in the air-conditioned compartments while he and Mr. Parmar were in the sleeper coach, according to Mr. Acharya, who has informed investigators that they boarded the Mumbai-bound train at Surat around 2.53 am.

“A little over 30 minutes after we began, I went to ASI Meena to turn in a report. He was accompanied by three ticket inspectors, Constable Chetan Singh, and him. Chetan Singh is not feeling well, ASI Meena informed me. I touched him to see if he was running a fever. I could not figure it out. Chetan Singh wanted to get off the train at the next station. ASI Meena was telling him that he had at least two hours of duty left.”

The 33-year-old officer was “in no mood to listen,” according to Mr. Acharya. “Mr. Meena immediately dialed our Inspector and gave the Mumbai Central control room notice, according to his instructions. Officials in the control room further stated that Chetan Singh must finish his task before receiving medical attention in Mumbai. Chetan Singh was not listening when ASI Meena tried to convey this to him, according to the Railway cop’s statement.

The Scuffle for firearm

Mr. Acharya claimed Mr. Meena requested him to buy Singh a cool drink, but Singh declined.
When Chetan Singh was ready to rest, ASI Meena instructed me to take his firearm. I then requested him to lie down on an open seat in the B4 coach while I took the seat in front of him. Chetan Singh, however, slept only briefly. Ten minutes later, he began requesting his weapon. I declined and told him to take a nap. He attempted to choke me out of rage. He pulled the weapon out of my hand after I was defeated and fled. I realized he had accidentally seized my firearm, Mr. Acharya informed police.

In his statement, he said that he told his superiors right away. Soon after, he went to Singh and informed him of the weapon mix-up, accompanied by ASI Meena. He snatched my firearm back and took his. He had a red face from fury. He was arguing as ASI Meena attempted to explain. He wasn’t paying attention to us. I then departed the location,” he claimed. “As I turned to go, I noticed him taking his rifle’s safety catch off. I deduced that he was in the mood to start shooting. I notified ASI Meena, and he urged Singh to stop being so agitated. I left a little later,” the train cop admitted to investigators.

According to Mr. Acharya, the train arrived at Vaitarna station at roughly 5.25 am. “I received a call from a classmate from the RPF informing me that ASI Meena had been shot. He was asked how he knew. He claimed to have heard from a coach attendant. I took off for coach B5. Some travelers were sprinting in my direction. They were terrified. They informed me that ASI Meena had been shot by Chetan Singh. I made sure Constable Narendra Parmar was okay by calling him. I additionally informed the control room.

The Railway officer reported to the police that he saw Singh close to carriage B1. “He was clutching the weapon and had a furious look on his face. I thought he might also shoot me. I then made a U-turn. Ten minutes later, the chain was pulled. The train was between Mira Road and Dahisar station, according to an app I used to check the location. Chetan Singh was there when I peered out from behind the coach door. He had the gun in his hand and appeared prepared to shoot, according to Mr. Acharya.

The railway constable has told police that he asked passengers to shut the windows and put their heads down. “I could hear gunshots. I hid in the bathroom. When I came out minutes later, I saw Chetan Singh walking on the tracks. He was still holding the rifle. The train started about 15 minutes later,” he said.

Singh lost his temper

According to Mr. Acharya, he noticed three passengers covered in blood when he approached coaches B5 and B6. “Railway police officers used stretchers to transport the wounded to the platform at Borivali station. One of them was ASI Meena, the leader of my squad. “It was obvious that they were no longer there when they were moved to the platform,” he has stated.
Ajgar Abbas Shaikh, 48, and Abdul Kadarbhai Mohammed Hussain Bhanpurwala, 62, are two of the deceased passengers.

Singh tried to get away but was apprehended. He has been detained, and a thorough investigation is ongoing. According to a senior officer who spoke to the media”He was quite hot-headed. He just lost his temper and shot his senior, then fired at whoever he saw,”
