Varanasi Visit Day 2: PM Modi inaugurates Swarved Mahamandir

On Day 2 of his visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the recently constructed Swarved Mahamandir in Umaraha, Varanasi.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was also in attendance at the event. On this special occasion, the prime minister also spoke to devotees.

PM Modi will flag off the second Vande Bharat train service, which runs from Varanasi to New Delhi. To stimulate the logistics industry, he will also inaugurate the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) from New Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction.

The second Vande Bharat train will have several features and be saffron in colour, according to the Northern Railway.

As per the statement, “The train has superior passenger amenities such as onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, bio-vacuum toilets with touch-free conveniences, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat, individual touch-based reading lights and concealed roller blinds.”

The train will then travel through Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Itawa, Tundla, and Aligarh before arriving in New Delhi at the designated times after being flagged off.

On December 20, 2023, the Vande Bharat Express is expected to open for regular business. The train will depart Varanasi at 6:00 AM and then will reach Prayagraj at 07:34 AM, Kanpur Central at 09:30 AM, and New Delhi at 2:05 PM.

Today, PM Modi will also inaugurate the eastern DFC’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction and New Bhaupur Junction. This stretch of the corridor, worth Rs 10,903 crore, runs along the Delhi-Howrah rail line and passes through the Uttar Pradesh districts of Chandauli, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Kanpur Nagar, and Kanpur Dehat.

On a two-day visit to Varanasi Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a number of infrastructure and development projects in the city on the first day, such as the Kanyakumari-Varanasi Tamil Sangamam train and the translation of Thirukkural, Manimekalai, and other classic Tamil literature into multiple languages and braille. Along with taking part in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the Prime Minister also visited the Viksit Bharat Yatra Van and Quiz event, where he spoke with people who were beneficiaries of different government programs.
