The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced that the written examination for direct recruitment of 60,244 police constables will take place in August. The exam, previously cancelled, has been rescheduled to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection process.
The examination will be conducted over two periods, August 23-25 and August 30-31, with a break in between to accommodate the Janmashtami festival. To maintain the highest standards of integrity and transparency, the UP government has issued guidelines for the examination, covering aspects such as preparations, selection of examination centers, verification of candidates, and prevention of impersonation.

Additionally, the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance-2024 has been notified to prevent unfair practices, including question paper leaks and tampering with answer sheets. Violations will be punishable with fines up to Rs 1 crore and life imprisonment.
To facilitate candidates, the UP State Road Transport Corporation will provide free bus services. Candidates must download two extra copies of their admit card to avail of this service. Approximately 5 lakh candidates will appear in each of the two shifts.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that the examination be conducted within six months, ensuring the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
