UP Man Rapes 16-Year-Old Girl, Posts Video Of Heinous Act Online

A man raped a 16-year-old girl in Muzzafarnagar, Uttar Pradesh and shared the video of the incident online, officials reported on Wednesday.

According to Circle Officer (CO) Rajkumar Sav, Waseem, the accused, reportedly sexually assaulted the woman in a sugarcane field two weeks ago and recorded the incident on camera.

Waseem threatened to post the video on social media if the girl told anybody about the event, the victim’s family’s said in complaint.

“The accused had forced the girl into a sugarcane field and raped her. He also threatened the girl of dire consequences and of making the video public, if she informed anyone about the incident,” the CO said.

“Afraid of the threats, the girl didn’t complain to anyone about the incident,” Sav said.

The victim’s parents contacted the police when the accused uploaded the footage online on Tuesday, he added.

In accordance with the provisions of the Information Technology Act and Indian Penal Code Section 376, police have filed a formal complaint. In an attempt to find Waseem, who has been missing since Tuesday night, multiple police units have been deployed in the area.
