Two Girls Found Dead In Farrukhabad; Police Investigate Possible Murder

In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district, two teenage girls, aged 15 and 18, were discover hanging from a tree on tuesday. That morning, authorities found the bodies in a mango orchard after the girls went missing following a Janmashtami celebration the previous evening.

According to family members, the teenagers attended a Janmashtami event at a nearby temple on the evening of August 27. They initially returned home around 9 PM due to rain but later went out again when the weather cleared. After the event ended around 1 AM, they did not return home. The family began searching for them, checking their aunt’s house and nearby locations.

The father of one of the girls reported that a local acquaintance informed them of the bodies found in the orchard around 6 AM. “We believe someone killed them and then hanged their bodies,” he said. Chilling visuals from the scene showed the girls hanging with two dupattas tied together.

Moreover, the police have recovered a phone and a SIM card from the scene and are using these items to gather more information. District Police Chief Alok Priyadarshi confirmed that the two girls were close friends and stated that the autopsy will provide further details. “We are investigating the case thoroughly and speaking with the family members. Action will be taken based on the findings,” he said.

The authorities have sent the bodies for autopsy and a forensic team has collected evidence from the site.

Akhilesh Yadav On The Incident

Uttar Pradesh’s main opposition leader, Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, has called for a swift and transparent investigation. “Such incidents create an atmosphere of fear and deeply affect the women community,” Yadav said in a statement. He urged the BJP government to conduct a fair investigation and address the concerns surrounding women’s safety.

However, Yadav emphasized the need to prioritize women’s safety above political considerations, stating, “The time has come to rise above politics and address this serious issue with the urgency it deserves.”
