Tripura Congress Committee Reorganizes Ahead of Parliamentary Elections

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has undergone a significant reorganization within its organizational framework, as disclosed by a senior party leader on Sunday.

The newly formed TPCC executive committee now comprises 75 members. This includes six vice presidents, seven general secretaries, and 19 secretaries, all entrusted with organizational responsibilities, as stated in a release by the party’s All India general secretary, KC Venugopal.

Notable figures such as Sudip Roy Barman, a CWC member (invitee), along with Gopal Chandra Roy, Birajit Singha, both serving as party MLAs, and former chief minister Samir Ranjan Barman have been included in the 41-member executive committee, according to the statement.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has additionally ratified the appointment of nine presidents to head district Congress committees (DCCs).

Furthermore, the AICC has constituted a nine-member pradesh election committee, naming TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha as its chairman. Esteemed personalities like Sudip Roy Barman, Samir Ranjan Barman, Birajit Singha, Gopal Chandra Roy, and D C Hrangkhawl have been appointed as members of this election committee.

Moreover, the heads of four frontal organizations, which include the Youth Congress, Mohila Congress, and Seva Dal, have been designated as ex-officio members of this committee.
