The Tihar Jail administration has issued termination notices to 50 employees following a verification drive that revealed discrepancies in their biometric identification records. Among the terminated staff, 39 were warders, 9 were assistant superintendents, and 2 were matrons, as reported by officials on Saturday.
This action was taken in accordance with the directives of the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSB), responsible for conducting exams and recruiting approximately 450 applicants for the aforementioned positions. The biometric identification records of 50 employees out of this pool did not align, prompting the issuance of termination notices.

Officials suspect the possibility of exam impersonation, stating, “It is suspected that somebody else had taken their exams.”

All affected employees were within their two-year probationary period, and they are required to respond to the termination notices within one month. This development underscores the significance of maintaining the integrity of recruitment processes and the need for a thorough verification mechanism.
