Tejashwi Yadav Meets Mallikarjun Kharge To Finalize Bihar Poll Strategy

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav arrived in the national capital early Tuesday for a crucial meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

The discussion centers on seat-sharing and poll strategy for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Tejashwi Yadav, while speaking to reporters at Delhi airport, confirmed the agenda, stating, “Today is our official meeting. We will discuss the strategies for Bihar elections.”

RJD MP Manoj Jha had earlier emphasized the meeting’s significance, stating it would delve into seat-sharing and the strengthening of the RJD-Congress alliance under the INDIA bloc.

With elections expected in about six months, both parties have accelerated their preparations.

The RJD, historically one of Congress’s oldest allies in Bihar, remains a key player in the opposition coalition.

Meeting Scheduled At Kharge’s Residence

Party sources expect the strategic meeting with Tejashwi Yadav to take place at Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence.

As part of Congress’s campaign push, Kharge is also slated to address a public rally in Bihar’s Buxar district on April 20.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar has intensified the focus on the issue of migration in Bihar.

Leading the ‘Naukri Do’ (Give Jobs) rally, Kumar urged the state government to tackle joblessness and stop the ongoing youth migration.

On April 7, he was joined by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Begusarai to bolster the campaign.

BJP And NDA Ramp Up Counter-Offensive

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have also launched full-scale preparations.

On March 30, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the party’s campaign in Bihar, targeting RJD patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav for fostering ‘jungle raj’ and corruption during his tenure from 1990 to 2005.

Shah also announced plans to spend two days each month in Bihar to oversee the BJP’s poll groundwork.

Most recently, on April 13, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended a strategic NDA meeting alongside Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary to coordinate the alliance’s electoral roadmap.

A High-Stakes Political Battle Ahead

As Bihar braces for elections, likely between October and November, the political landscape is heating up.

The BJP and Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United), forming the NDA, are gearing up for a tough contest against the opposition bloc, which includes Congress, RJD, and several Left parties.

Although the Election Commission has yet to announce official polling dates, the state is already witnessing intense political maneuvering, signaling a fierce electoral battle on the horizon.
