Tamil Nadu CM Takes Jibe At Amit Shah: Says, “Won’t Be Enslaved By Hindi”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin stated on Saturday that “we won’t be enslaved by Hindi” in a statement denouncing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s “audacious push” for Hindi acceptability.

“I strongly denounce Union Home Minister @AmitShah’s audacious push for Hindi acceptance. It’s a blatant attempt to subjugate non-Hindi speakers. Tamil Nadu rejects any form of Hindi hegemony and imposition. Our language and heritage define us – we won’t be enslaved by Hindi!,” MK Stalin on Hindi language tweeted.

Hindi is not in rivalry!

Ahead of the 38th meeting of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language, which was held in New Delhi earlier on Friday, the Union Home Minister reportedly stated that Hindi must be accepted without resistance even if the pace of adoption is slow.

The nation will only be strengthened by supporting all Indian languages, according to Amit Shah, who also claimed that Hindi is not in rivalry with other languages.

MK Stalin on Hindi Language

The “vehement” opposition to the “imposition” of Hindi in areas like Karnataka and West Bengal was another request made by MK Stalin.

“Many states like Karnataka, West Bengal also have been vehemently resisting #HindiImposition. Hon’ble @AmitShah, please take heed of the growing resistance! Igniting the embers of the ‘1965 Anti-Hindi Imposition Agitations’ would be an unwise move,” he tweeted.

Hindi Language

Hindi is the national language of India. However, it is not accepted in the entire nation at the same level. Especially, the states where Hindi is not at all spoken repel the idea of giving the language ‘National’ status. South Indian states have always been the most prominent opposition of this idea. Hence, the CM of Karnataka passed on such a statement. Getting acceptance for the idea of Hindi being national language has never been easy in India.
