Supreme Court To Hear a Petition Today Opposing Demolition Near Krishna Janmabhoomi

On Monday, the Supreme Court is due to hear a case involving the demolition campaign to remove allegedly unlawful structures close to the Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the cause list for Monday posted on the website of the Supreme Court, the appeal would be heard by a panel that included justices Aniruddha Bose, Sanjay Kumar, and SVN Bhatti.

The issue is destroying settlements close to Krishna Janmabhoomi.

Removal of unlawful constructions

The demolition campaign being carried out by the railway officials to remove the allegedly unlawful constructions was paused by the apex court when it was hearing the case on August 16 for a period of 10 days.

In response to a request made by petitioner Yakub Shah, it had sent notifications to the Centre and other parties, requesting their responses.”For a period of ten days beginning today, the subject premises shall remain in the same condition. List within a week,” the bench had instructed in its order on August 16.

The top court, which had rejected a further extension of the interim order, took up the case again on August 25.On August 28, list. The petitioner should file any rejoinder in the interim. The bench had stated that the temporary order would not be extended further.

Several homes destroyed

The petitioner’s attorney had informed the Supreme Court on August 16 that 100 homes had been destroyed.
There are still 70 to 80 homes. Everything will start to sour. They carried out the activity on a day when the courts in Uttar Pradesh were closed, he had claimed.
