The Golden Athlete of India, Neeraj Chopra did it one again! Well, the Javelin Player seems to be habitual of the same. The second attempt seems to be the right chance for India’s Golden Athlete as just like the Tokyo Olympics, this time as well he made the winning throw in the second attempt. Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian to bag Gold Medal at the World Athletics Championships. 88.17m long throw bagged him the first position on the podium. Have a look at the winning shot.
On the big stage, two other Indians, Kishore Jena and DP Manu, also made an impression. Jena, who placed fifth with a throw of 84.77 meters (his personal best), and Manu, who placed sixth with a throw of 84.14 meters, both failed to make the podium.
Neeraj completed the last item on his list of gold medals—the Worlds gold—in style. Second throw was actually thrown a few meters behind the foul line, and there was room for a few more. The 25-year-old Neeraj now holds gold medals from the U-20 World Championships (2016), the Asian Games (2018), the Commonwealth Games (2018), the Olympics (Tokyo in 2021), and the Diamond League title from the previous year.

Along with Neeraj’s probable defeat, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem’s third-attempt throw of 87.82 meters (his season’s best) added to the drama and showmanship surrounding the javelin throw final. It developed into a thrilling, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat contest between India and Pakistan. It was taking place in a nation in Europe with no connection to cricket. Everyone had long forgotten about the Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India on September 2. Neeraj was no longer feeling safe because the Pakistani had a throw of more than 90 meters at the Commonwealth Games the previous year.
