SpiceJet Employee Arrested For Slapping CISF Officer At Jaipur Airport

The airline announced that they had filed a complaint demanding immediate legal action against the alleged sexual harassment of their employee.

A SpiceJet employee was arrested on Thursday following a heated argument in which she slapped a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer during a dispute over security screening procedures.

The incident occurred around 4 am when Anuradha Rani, a food supervisor with SpiceJet, was entering the airport with other employees through the vehicle gate. Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad stopped the group, citing their lack of valid permission to use the gate, and directed Rani to undergo screening at the nearby entrance designated for airline crew.

According to the CISF, there were no female CISF staff available at that time. Prasad called for female staff to perform the security screening, but an argument erupted between him and Rani before they arrived. The dispute escalated, and Rani slapped Prasad.

“A case has been registered against her, and she has been arrested,” a senior CISF official stated.

In contrast, SpiceJet issued a statement attributing the blame to CISF officer Prasad. Describing the incident as unfortunate, SpiceJet Airlines claimed, “While escorting a catering vehicle at the steel gate, our female security staff member, who had a valid airport entry pass issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), India’s civil aviation security regulator, was subjected to inappropriate and unacceptable language by the CISF personnel, including asking her to come and meet him after his duty hours at his home.”
