Scam at Mahaveer Medical College: Fake Patients, Fake Faculty, Jeopardizing The Future Of Students

Madhya Pradesh’s Mahavir Medical College has made news once more. This is not the first time that allegations concerning irregularities at Mahavir Medical College have been raised. A startling case involving this medical college has come to light. Fake patients were discovered in the Medical College during the inspection on Wednesday. By paying money in the medical college, people were shown as false patients.

On the other hand, attendance was not linked with the faculty’s biometric machine. More than 70% of the faculty here is simply on paper. The inspection team discovered numerous anomalies at the medical college. Some faculty have clinics in various cities across the country, but they are listed as full-time faculty. The pupils’ futures are being jeopardised here, yet the college administration is unconcerned.

There are almost no patients in medical schools.

Even in IPD, where 50 percent of the beds should be filled, the team discovered that everything was empty. The number of patients was almost non-existent. The inspection team discovered several similar problems in the medical college that were only referenced on paper but were not evident on the ground.

Prior to this, the medical college was inspected in 2022, and many questions were raised about the medical college administration. There were not enough patients in OPD at the time, nor were there any admitted to IPD. Alam was that only 5 patients were seen in this 100-bed college. These people were all suffering from minor illnesses. NMC then forbade further recognition. According to reports, it has an NPA of 100 crores since 2019, and banks are placing pressure on it.
