In times like these, words seem inefficient for those who have lost their loved ones in the strife.” The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 was lauded in the house. Soon after this Congress MLAs started shouting “stop mockery, let’s save democracy” from their seats and demanded the session to be extended for 5 days.
Speaker Satyabrata Singh requested the MLA to get back to their seats and stop creating ruckus but they did not hear and continued with their action after which the house was adjourned for half an hour. When the session was restarted, Congress MLA continued to create the fuss following the proceedings were adjourned sine die.
The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU) and the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF) had recently denounced the convening of the session saying the present situation is not conducive for Kuki-Zo MLAs to attend it. Okram Ibobi Singh said the session is an eyewash and not in public interest.
