Over a minor land dispute, a woman in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly suffered brutal treatment with an iron rod and then was run over by a tractor. She is receiving treatment in the ICU right now.
The woman’s family is involved in a property dispute, and when the accused family tried to cultivate the disputed farm, the victim tried to stop them, and they then tried to run her down with a tractor.
Immediately after the incident was reported, the police opened an investigation, and five suspects including the main accused Anil Jaiswal, were detained.
However, the victim’s family initially kept quiet about the crime. However, after the medical examination, the police is considering filing additional charges against the accused as the victim has sustained serious injuries.
The accused allegedly tried to run over the victim with their tractor after inserting an iron rod into her private part, as per the victim’s son. She was initially taken to the district hospital for treatment before being transferred, to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, 70 kilometres away as her condition worsened.
The incident occurred a few weeks after a video of an unnamed woman being kicked, dragged, and beaten with iron rods on the streets of Madhya Pradesh went viral on social media. She was reportedly asked to leave the area by the shopkeepers, but she refused which led to the incident.
The assault was reported to MP police and a case was registered. However, police wasn’t able to find the woman.
