Rajasthan Man Thrashes 85 Year Old Woman With Umbrella, Victim Dies, Police Says Accused Was Hallucinating

A video of Rajasthan man(60) beating a woman(85) brutually with an umbrella has sent shockwaves across the nation. The victim, Kalki Bai Gameti died from the assault. Police has arrested 4 people in connection with the case. 2 minors stood near crime site and shot videos without making any effort in saving the woman.

The accused, Pratap Singh who looked drunk, police said was hallucinating. When a man tried to stop him he ignored him completly, refused to pay any heed to his words and continued thrashing the woman.

Police mentioned that while committing the crime, accused was not in his senses. “He imagined himself to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, and believed he could kill the woman and resurrect her,” a top police official said.

In the video the accused was seen saying that Lord Shiva has sent him to her as he is Shiva’s follower. He punched victim in chest and said, “Maharani hai tu (you are a queen).” After the blow when woman fell on ground he dragged her by her hair and further hits on her head using an umbrella.

The incident happened in Gogunda Tehsil of Udaipur which is a tribal hilly area. While the elderly woman was going to meet someone in her neighbourhood, the unfortunate event happened.

It was rumoured that accused killed the victim as he speculated him of being a witch, however, police denied such statements and declared it as a random killing.
