Fire breaks out in Noida apartment

Noida: On Thursday, a fire broke out inside a closed flat on the second story of a residential tower in the Noida Extension region and spread to the third floor balcony, according to officials. The event resulted in no casualties, although there was property damage, according to officials. According to authorities, three fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, and the fire was extinguished within two hours.
According to Chief incident Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey, the incident was reported at roughly 9.30 a.m. from an apartment on the second floor of Gaur City 16th Avenue Society in the Bisrakh neighborhood of Noida Extension. “The owner was gone, thus the unit was locked. We entered the flat and brought the fire under control with the assistance of the society’s maintenance personnel. The home has been severely damaged. The fire had also spread to the third-floor flat’s balcony, which was extinguished promptly,” Choubey added.
The officer stated that the fire started owing to an electrical short circuit, and it is also suspected that some inflammable item was maintained inside the unit.
“Fortunately no one was inside the flat at the time of the incident,” the chief fire officer added. The officer also warned the public to be cautious while walking outside and asked individuals living in high-rises not to seal their balconies with iron grilles, as this can be “troublesome in the event of an emergency.”
