Petition of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha in Government Bungalow allotment case is listed before Delhi HC for Tomorrow.
The Plea filled by AAP MP challenges the cancelation of his government bungalow allotment. Notably, Chadha had filed a petition in a Delhi Court after Rajya Sabha Secretariate canceled the bungalow allotement and allocated other accomodation to Chadha.
Now, Raghav Chadha has approached the High Court against the lower court’s decision, which said that he has no right to continue occupying the government Type 7 bungalow at Pandara Road.
Such bungalows are allotted to those MPs who have served as ministers, chief ministers or governors. Earlier, a single bench of the Delhi High Court had quashed the trial court’s order to vacate the government bungalow. The single bench had directed the trial court to hear the matter as per the rules.

On 29 August 2022, the AAP MP had requested the Rajya Sabha Chairman to allot him a Type 7 bungalow. He shifted to this bungalow on 9 November 2022. After this, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat declared AAP MP Raghav Chadha ineligible for a Type 7 bungalow.
Moreover, the Secretariat told the court that Type 6 bungalows are allotted to MPs elected for the first time.
