President Murmu Grants Approval for 80 Gallantry Awards on the eve of Republic Day

Three out of the six Kirti Chakra awards were posthumously conferred, while two of the 16 Shaurya Chakra awards were given posthumously.

On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu approved 80 gallantry awards, including six Kirti Chakra and 16 Shaurya Chakra. Among the Kirti Chakra awardees were Major Digvijay Singh Rawat, Major Deependra Vikram Basnet, and Havildar Pawan Kumar Yadav. Three of the Kirti Chakra were posthumously awarded to Captain Anshuman Singh, Havildar Abdul Majid, and Sepoy Pawan Kumar.

The 16 Shaurya Chakra recipients included Major Maneo Francis, Major Amandeep Jakhar, Naib Subedar Baria Sanjay Kumar Bhamar Singh, Havildar Sanjay Kumar, Parshotam Kumar (civilian), Lieutenant Bimal Ranjan Behera, Wing Commander Shailesh Singh, Flight Lieutenant Hrishikesh Jayan Karuthedath, and CRPF’s Assistant Commandant Bibhor Kumar Singh. Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel Mohan Lal, Amit Raina, Faroz Ahmad Dar, and Varun Singh were also honored with the Shaurya Chakra. Posthumous Shaurya Chakra awardees were Captain MV Pranjal and Rifleman Alok Rao.

Additionally, the awards included 53 Sena Medals (seven posthumous), one Nao Sena Medal (gallantry), and four Vayu Sena Medals (gallantry). President Murmu also approved 311 defense decorations, including Param Vishisht Seva Medals, Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, Yudh Seva Medals, Bar to Sena Medals, Sena Medals, Nao Sena Medals, Vayu Sena Medals, Bar to Vishisht Seva Medals, and Vishisht Seva Medals.
