Preparations are in full swing for the Maha Kumbh, set to take place in January 2025 along the banks of the Sangam. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, all departments are collaborating to create a divine, grand, clean, and eco-friendly atmosphere for this significant event.
The Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Department is playing a crucial role in facilitating the journey for devotees. They are operating a large fleet of buses while promoting the Yogi government’s commitment to making the Maha Kumbh an environmentally friendly occasion. UP Roadways is actively involved in these promotional efforts.
MK Trivedi, the Regional Manager of UP Roadways in Prayagraj, highlighted the initiative to communicate the government’s vision for the Kumbh. “आओ चलें महाकुंभ” stickers are being affixed to buses to engage the public. Additionally, the backs of the buses are being adorned with posters, slogans, and scenes depicting the Kumbh Mela, turning them into vibrant representations of the event.
CM Yogi has issued clear directives for the Maha Kumbh 2025, emphasizing the need for a polythene-free environment. He instructed officials to ensure that every ward and locality in Prayagraj remains clean. “Mohalla Swachhta Samitis should be established to facilitate this initiative,” he stated.
Public awareness is essential for this effort. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to making the entire Prayagraj area, including the fairgrounds, a model of cleanliness. In line with the Chief Minister’s vision, UP Roadways is stepping up its efforts.
Trivedi announced that the department is preparing to offer direct bus services from Prayagraj to all 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, as well as neighboring states during the Maha Kumbh. Buses heading to these locations will feature vinyl wraps displaying messages and imagery related to the event.
Moreover, Trivedi noted that UP Roadways is advancing the government’s campaign for environmental protection. Polythene-free Maha Kumbh stickers are being placed on Transport Department buses.
Drivers and conductors have committed to promoting the polythene-free campaign. They aim to ensure the success of this initiative while also raising awareness among passengers during their journeys. The goal is to give the Maha Kumbh global recognition and to foster a clean, sustainable environment for all attendees.
