PM Modi’s Claim About Rahul Gandhi’s Savarkar Views Resurfaces After Maharashtra Elections

With the Maharashtra Assembly elections concluded, the focus has shifted to government formation. Amidst this, a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticizing Congress over derogatory remarks about Veer Savarkar has gone viral on social media platform X. Several BJP leaders, including Piyush Goyal and Sambit Patra, shared the video.

Modi’s Remarks on Veer Savarkar

In the video, PM Modi accuses Congress of disrespecting Veer Savarkar nationwide. He states, “The Congress leadership has insulted Veer Savarkar and abused him across the country. To gain votes in Maharashtra, they have temporarily stopped, but they cannot genuinely acknowledge Savarkar’s penance and sacrifice.” The video includes a caption in English reading, “As PM Modi Predicted.”

Rahul Gandhi’s Response on Savarkar

The video also features Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressing the public while holding a copy of the Constitution. Gandhi asks, “Is Savarkar’s voice in this Constitution? Does it say violence should be used, or people should be killed, scared, or cut?” The clip captions his statement as, “RAGA started abusing Veer Savarkar as soon as Maharashtra Election Ended.”
