A shocking case of rape has come to light in Rajiv Camp, Jhilmil Industrial Area, Seemapuri. On Friday evening, a 9-year-old girl was playing in the street when Amit, a boy from the neighborhood, lured her to his house and raped her. After the assault, Amit left the girl outside when his friend Golu called him. The victim immediately informed her uncle, and both rushed to the police station. Based on the girl’s statement, the police registered a case and arrested Amit.
The victim’s father claims that Golu, who was present during the incident, has not been questioned by the police, despite the girl’s statement implicating him. He also alleges that the accused’s mother threatened the victim after learning about the police action.
Further, the victim’s father raised concerns about police insensitivity. He stated that when his daughter was admitted to the hospital for medical tests, the woman police officer assigned to her left, causing delays. The doctor insisted that the girl could only be discharged in the presence of the police. However, the investigating officer did not attend, and the father was forced to write that he was taking the girl home without police permission.
The Seemapuri police in-charge responded, stating that police presence was not required for the girl’s discharge from the hospital. As for the allegations against Golu, the police confirmed Amit’s arrest and stated that Golu would be questioned. If his involvement is confirmed, action would be taken.
