In a recent cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked his cabinet colleagues to prevent visiting the Ram temple in Ayodhya until at least March. The reason behind this suggestion is the large number of people visiting the temple, causing inconvenience to the public due to the VIP protocols.
On Tuesday, around 500,000 devotees visited the temple when it was open to the public, leading to such a massive crowd that authorities had to temporarily stop buses heading to Ayodhya to prevent chaos. On Wednesday, despite tight security, around 300,000 devotees, bundled up in warm clothes, waited outside the temple.
In light of the overwhelming rush, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting in Lucknow to review crowd management measures. He advised VIPs planning to visit the temple to inform the authorities in advance. Adityanath emphasized the need for VIPs to notify either the state government or the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust about their visits a week before scheduling them. The chief minister acknowledged the extraordinary influx of devotees from across the country and stressed the importance of coordination to ensure smooth and organized visits to Ayodhya.
