Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit US at the invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden from June 21 to 24. According to a community leader in charge of organising the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to Indian Americans here next week about the importance of the diaspora in India’s development.
On June 22, US President and First Lady will welcome PM Modi at a state dinner. On the same day he also be addressing before the joint session of Congress.
On June 23, Modi will give a speech to a selected group of national diaspora leaders gathered at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Centre in Washington.
As per PTI, all the tickets of event have been sold out informed Mr. Dr Bharat Barai who was at the Ronald Reagan Building Venue in Washington DC. He said, “As far as the registrations are concerned, they are closed for the host committee as well as other people. We had an extraordinary response, all by word of mouth because we had only 838 seats. So there was no time and there was no capacity if we advertised outside.”
“We used the database that we had from the previous public meetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and even before we could contact the people, they contacted us and it’s all filled up,” he added.
“The diaspora is very much excited about having such a visionary and working person who has propelled India to the fifth largest economy in the world. Not only that, he has elevated India’s reputation,” he said.

Noting that there won’t be many cultural components during the event, Dr Bharat Barai also mentioned that the promoters wanted to make it largely an engagement between the diaspora and the prime minister, noting that the event will have relatively few cultural components.
