PM Modi To Inaugurate 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention In Indore

The three day conference of the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore which is going to welcome overseas Indians participating from across the world, will witness its conclusion with the address of President Draupadi Murmu..

Overseas Indians from around the world are going to have the opportunity to meet on one dais during the three-day conference in Indore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention in Indore on January 9 and the address of President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will witness its conclusion.

Thousands of overseas Indians living around the world will discuss on various subjects during the PBD Convention. will discuss. The three-day Convention will be held from January 8 to 10. In the PBD conference, overseas Indians will discuss over various topics. Overseas Indians will be introduced the achievements and capabilities of the country and the state. There will also be various cultural activities held. Pravasi Bharatiya will be honored at the end of the three-day convention by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu.

The President of Guyana Mohammed Irfan Ali, the President of Suriname Chandrika Prasad Santokhi and the Member of Parliament of Australia Zeneta Mascarenhas will participate in the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on January 8, during the first day of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and ministers of the central and state governments will also participate in the PBD.

Youth Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas

Various programs of Youth Pravasi Bhartiya Divas will be held on the first day of the PBD conference. The inauguration day will witness CM Shivraj’s address, Secretary (CPV, OIA) Dr. Ausaf Sayeed’s welcome address, Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur’s speech , Guest of Honor Zeneta Mascarenhas, Member of Parliament Australia will have a special address. Apart from these speeches, Union Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will also address the gathering whereas Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Meeta Rajivlochan will propose vote of thanks.

On the first day, the plenary session under the chairmanship of Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur will discuss the role of migrant youth in innovations and new technology. This will be followed by sessions on the three sectors related to industrial capabilities of the state, Textile and Garments: Weaving the Growth Story of M.P., Stories of changes taking place in Madhya Pradesh in Information Technology and allied sectors, Health Care and Pharmaceuticals Investment: Reshaping the Global Health Value Chain.

Following this there will be important discussions in three important sessions on Invest in Madhya Pradesh – The Food Basket, Startup Eco System – Unleashing the Entrepreneurial Strength of Madhya Pradesh and Tourism Opportunity in the Heart of Incredible India. In the evening there will be cultural conferences based on the unique cultural features of Madhya Pradesh.

PM Modi will inaugurate Pravasi Bharatiya Divas on 9th January

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention on 9th January at the Brilliant Convention Center. Union Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will hold the responsibility of the welcome address. CM Shivraj, Special Guest Suriname President Chandrika Prasad Santokhi and Chief Guest Guyana President Dr. Mohammad Irfan Ali will also address the gathering. A special postage stamp “Go Safe, Go Trained” will also be released by the dignitaries. After this, PM Modi will address the conference.

This will be followed by the inauguration of the Indian Diaspora Day exhibition “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Contribution of Overseas Indians in the Indian Freedom Struggle”. The MoUs and Agreements will be exchanged with Guyana. There will be a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Suriname President Chandrika Prasad Santokhi.

After lunch there will be a Plenary Session on “Role of Indian Diaspora in promoting Indian Healthcare Eco System in Amrit Kaal: Vision @ 2047” chaired by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare. In the evening there will be a session on “Harnessing India’s Soft Power – Goodwill through Craft Cuisine and Creativity”, chaired by Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs, V. Muraleedharan.

President Murmu to felicitate NRIs at concluding session of PBD

On January 10, the third day of the PBD, the first session will be chaired by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, coupled with a parallel session on “Enabling Global Mobility of the Indian Workforce – Role of the Indian Diaspora”.  There will be a detailed discussion on the topic “Harnessing the Potential of Overseas Women Entrepreneurs towards an Inclusive Approach to Nation Building” under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The banquet has been organized by the Governor Mangubhai Patel. Thereafter, President Draupadi Murmu will reach the Brilliant Convention Center and meet the President of Suriname, Chandrika Prasad Santokhi and the President of Guyana, Dr. Mohammed Irfan Ali. Union Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will deliver the welcome speech which will follow the address by the MP Chief Minister.

Addressing the conference, President Murmu will also present the awards to the overseas Indians. The 17th PBD Conference will conclude with the vote of thanks by Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for External Affairs.
