Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad On January 8th to inaugurate the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024. The summit will take place in Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, and will take place between January 10th and 12. This year the summit’s theme is ‘Gateway to the Future’. In addition to marking a decade of vibrant Gujarat’s success, the PM will be attending an array of events in Ahmedabad.
Today, he is slated to partake in a roadshow alongside UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed AI Nahyan.
PM Modi reached the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre around at 9.30 am. According to PM’s office, he will be holding a bilateral meeting with the world leaders. Subsequently, he will be meeting with the CEO’s of top global corporations. Around 3 pm, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show.
In the evening, the Prime Minister and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are slated to participate in a 3-km roadshow in Ahmedabad. Additionally, on Wednesday, the Prime Minister is set to inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
This summit marks its return after a five-year hiatus and was originally conceived by Modi during his tenure leading the state. Over time, it evolved into a key governmental initiative, serving as a platform for international engagement with governments and businesses to drive investments into Gujarat. The summit’s success contributed to shaping the narrative around the Gujarat growth model, ultimately aiding Modi’s ascent to national power in 2014. However, while Gujarat stands as one of India’s largest economies, debates persist about its suitability as a replicable model for development.
