Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi on Thursday. The courtesy call lasted around 20 minutes. Sharma congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 25 years in public service.
During his Delhi visit, Sharma is scheduled to meet Union Minister for Coal, Mines and Education Pralhad Joshi at 4 PM. The meeting is expected to address key development issues concerning Rajasthan.
The meeting comes amid recent urban local body election results and preparations for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections in Rajasthan. However, neither leader has officially disclosed details of their discussions. No announcement has linked the meeting to any specific political or electoral decision.
A day earlier, the Rajasthan Cabinet, chaired by Sharma, passed a resolution honouring Prime Minister Modi for completing 25 years in public office and contributing to nation-building.
Sharma described October 7 as a historic milestone in Prime Minister Modi’s public service journey as head of a government. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on good governance, development and the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
The Chief Minister pointed to PM Modi’s electoral mandates, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and continuing through three consecutive terms as Prime Minister.
Rajasthan is preparing for the next phase of local governance elections following the recent urban local body polls. Panchayati Raj elections are expected to shape the state’s political landscape.
The meeting has attracted attention amid ongoing political discussions at the state and national levels. However, officials have not confirmed any electoral agenda behind the interaction.
The Rajasthan government continues to pursue its development priorities while preparing for upcoming electoral challenges.
