PM Modi Interacts With Assam Students On Brahmaputra During Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an interactive session with students from across Assam during Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, conducted on the historic Charideo vessel sailing on the Brahmaputra River.

The conversation centred on mental strength, physical fitness, and disciplined living as students gear up for examinations.

Speaking to the students, PM Modi said confidence in one’s own abilities forms the backbone of success.

He referred to Swami Vivekananda’s address at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, noting that despite initial nervousness, Vivekananda’s faith in himself and devotion helped him deliver a speech that resonated across the world.

The Prime Minister urged students to treat health as a top priority rather than an afterthought. He encouraged regular breathing exercises and spoke about the positive impact of waking up early, saying that watching the sunrise refreshes the mind and energises the body.

Highlighting the value of routine, PM Modi said discipline in daily activities creates a strong foundation for long-term success.

During the interaction, he shared a warm moment with a student from Assam’s tea garden community who offered tea sent by her mother, describing the gesture as moving and memorable.

Advice to Parents on Comparisons

Responding to concerns about parental comparisons, the Prime Minister advised families to avoid measuring children against one another, as such behaviour can increase stress and emotional strain.

He further added that excessive praise or criticism can affect children differently and should be handled with care.

On questions about food habits, PM Modi said he never adhered to a fixed diet, particularly during his early travelling years. He described food as a form of medicine and urged students to eat consciously, asking them to reflect on whether they eat for nourishment or mere satisfaction.

Addressing personal development, PM Modi said progress comes from constantly challenging oneself rather than remaining content. He encouraged students to recognise their weaknesses, compete with their own past performance, and continue moving forward with determination.

Students later said the session helped ease their exam stress and left them feeling more relaxed, confident, and motivated ahead of their examinations.
