Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended Navratri greetings to citizens, praying for happiness, peace, prosperity and good health.
He also invoked Goddess Shailputri’s blessings, seeking patience, self-confidence and national progress at the beginning of the nine-day festival.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister greeted people on the festival dedicated to the worship of divine power. He prayed that Maa Jagadamba’s grace would bring happiness, peace, prosperity and good health to everyone while strengthening the resolve for national unity and progress.
In a separate post, PM Modi offered prayers to Maa Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga, and sought her blessings for the country’s people.

He prayed that the Goddess’s divine grace would instil patience and self-confidence in everyone’s heart and that her blessings would remain with the people.
The Prime Minister also shared a YouTube link to Karpoora Nayagiye, a Tamil devotional song dedicated to Goddess Amman, associated with Mariamman and Shakti.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his greetings, describing Navratri as a festival symbolising power and devotion. He said the worship of the nine forms of the Mother conveyed the message of strength, restraint and service.
Shah prayed that Mother Bhagwati would bring happiness, prosperity and renewed energy into everyone’s life. He concluded his message with ‘Jai Mata Di’.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta wished residents a happy Navratri, praying for happiness, peace, health and prosperity.
The festival honours Goddess Durga and her nine forms, beginning in Ashwin and ending with Dussehra. Devotees worship Goddess Shailputri on the first day, seeking strength and well-being.
