Frustrated by years of neglect, residents of Panchsheel Wellington in Crossing Republik have launched a protest against the builder.
Families, including small children, gathered to voice their anger over crumbling infrastructure, unsafe living conditions, and the builder’s failure to deliver on promised facilities.
Protesters said they had raised complaints repeatedly but were left unheard.
The protesters highlighted that buildings in society are falling apart, with plaster peeling off and debris posing a serious risk to lives.
Essential amenities such as lifts frequently remain out of service, creating daily struggles for residents, especially the elderly and children.
Parks meant for children’s play and family activities have been encroached upon for parking. Broken swings and litter have left these spaces unsafe and unusable.
Health Hazards & Security Failures
Residents also cited worsening health hazards, with the basement filled with garbage piles that emit a foul stench. Many complained of the growing risk of disease.
On the security front, the society is equally vulnerable. Defunct CCTV cameras, a collapsed intercom facility, and reduced guards have left families feeling unsafe inside their homes.
Protesters accused the builder of negligence, stating that despite collecting maintenance fees, no improvements have been made. The builder has yet to hand over the society to the Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA), keeping all funds under his control.
Residents, feeling cheated and neglected, vowed to continue their protest until the authorities intervene and meet their demands for safety and proper maintenance.
