Owaisi on Atiq Ahmed, Ashraf's murder case
After gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in Prayagraj, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the BJP government has a role in this incident. He has also called the incident a cold-blooded murder and criticized those who are celebrating the deaths. He also referred to them as “vultures.”
While addressing the media, Owaisi said that Uttar Pradesh’s BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) government has a role in this.
He asserted, “Supreme Court-monitored investigation should be done and a committee should be formed. No officer from Uttar Pradesh should be included in the committee. This was a ‘cold-blooded’ murder.”
Moreover, he has also expressed his concerns and thoughts by questioning how the killer/attackers were able to obtain the weapons. Also, why there was shouting religious slogans after committing this heinous crime? He asked, “What will you call them if not terrorists? Will you call them Patriots? People celebrating this incident are vultures…”

According to him, the incident that took the lives of Atiq and his brother has raised significant concerns about the state of law and order.
Further, he questioned whether the general public will have confidence in the constitution and India’s law and order system following this incident.
The AIMIM chief said, “I am ready to die… Radicalisation needs to be stopped. I will surely visit Uttar Pradesh, I am not scared. I have always been saying that BJP in Uttar Pradesh is not running the government by the rule of law but by the rule of the gun.”
After this, Owaisi also demanded the resignation of the UP’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
He added, “Atiq and his brother were in police custody. He was handcuffed. JSR (Jai Shri Ram) slogans were also raised. The killing of both is the failure of Yogi’s law and order system. Those celebrating encounter raj are also responsible for this murder.”
